Pelta is a New York–based brand offering handmade beaded jewelry, embroidered accessories, and artisanal bags, created by Colombian-born textile artist Alejandra Mejía. Every piece is meticulously handmade using techniques rooted in Latin American craftsmanship—from hand-beading and embroidery to thoughtful colorwork and design.

Founded in Bogotá in 2020 during the pandemic, Pelta began as a way to stay connected to creative practice and cultural identity during a time of uncertainty. After a pause from 2021 to 2024, Alejandra reopened Pelta in NYC in December 2024, continuing the mission of sharing meaningful, handcrafted pieces with a global audience.
